KRINGLE
This tiny Karakachan mix pup was dumped in the village and luckily found by dig loving friends .
Already owning a pack of three karakachans and two cats , they couldn’t adopt him as only 5 animals are allowed per car to travel over borders.
But Kringle found his forever home with friends of them so they can keep in contact.
Kringle got a brother, a large garden and lots of love - he s a very happy pup now
ZOEY
Just appeared out of nowhere in the village. Her short legs and dropping ears give her a unique appearance.
Zoey is a shy character and needs time to gain comfort and it took her some time to get braver, but her new family with two boys happy to cuddle and play with her gave her all the needed time to settle in and feel safe and secure.
DOTTY
Was so tiny when Candy picked her up in town freshly dumped. She wasn’t older then 5 weeks by then.
As she's a herding dogs mix with a guarding character, it was the best for her to live with the pack, having many teachers for social behaviour and manners.
She's now living with her new mum and an older German Shepard sister.
She's already grown to the size of a Bernese mountain dog and still not finished growing.
As for all Herding dogs and mixes of them we request special knowledge of future owners, as they do need different training and handling .
TIMMI
Has just been dumped in a cardboard box at the remote mountain road with just a handful of kibble beside, when Candy passed on her way to town and saw him climbing out of his box and trying to get to the one the hillside towards the stream.
She managed to stop him from falling in the wild waters and he proved to be a timid but clever hunting dogs mix.
His new family was happy to wait for him till Corona rules allowed him to travel and he's very spoiled pup now and even allowed to accompany his mum to work
PATCH
Poor patch was picked up by Candy three years ago and he must have had a bad accident whilst puppyhood.
One of his hind legs was just tiny and useless but irritated him often and he hurt himself again and again.
At CVC - Sofia his useless leg was amputated.
What a relief for Patch as he now could run and play as all the others but sadly his wound never healed properly . It took three years , 4 more operations, many sessions of antibiotics until last year the vets could at last find the reason ( a tiny splint of bone behind his pelvis ) and all was healing up properly this time.
A new home was waiting for him for more than a year already and he could happily join Leon there and he really enjoys his new life.
WELLIE
Was just by luck found by the pack whilst having a long walk in the forest .
He was so exhausted he couldn’t react any more.
Warmth, good food and most important love loaded his energy quickly and he found a loving home with two human sisters , an older terrier friend and a more generation family to live and spoil him .
LEON

Came together with Nix just around Xmas 2019 and it took him no time to adapt to the pack and living in a house.
Gentle and big , loving and he s in his elements at his new home on a horse farm with lots of space to roam
and follow his owner around.
He waited patiently for Patch to follow and by now both are happy joined
NIX
Was dumped together with Leon and showed her high energy from the very first moment. She surprised all - being just bones and fur - by giving birth to a single pup just a few days after her rescue. She was a loving and gentle mum and found her active family soon, so mum and son could travel together.
NANOUK
Son of Nix and the very first pup born at LAR base. White as his mum he caught everyone s heart in no time!
His adopters had to wait long for him due to the Corona virus and border closings but he was so worth waiting for
STELLA
First we didn’t find Stella but a litter of 5 freshly dumped puppies in the village in the middle of a street and one already run over by a car :(
It was the next day that Stella appeared on the same place , very wobbly and tired. She had been sedated to bring her there. But as soon as she woke up properly she showed clearly the it was her litter and she restarted caring for them with lots of love.
Sadly only her pups found homes quickly but not Stella as she had huge problems with walking on a lead ( we think she was chained ) and entering a car, but after many months she had her chance to go and live together with an earlier Rescue “India” where lots of live and patience waited for her. She showing progress in daily little steps and really shows her happiness. A gentle traumatised soul on her way to a normal dog life :)
LUCY
What a skinny little pup she was when Candy found her dumped at age of 4-5 weeks. Lucy is a Karakachan collie Mix and having the pack to teach her was lots of profit for her social skills. She found a family with love for big dogs and is still growing ....
MEME
Sweet Meme has been dumped and was so scared, it took some weeks to catch her. She needed a few more weeks before she dared to enter the house but then made big progress and now loves sofas and big chairs more then dog beds. It took her about one year to gain enough self-confidence to be adopted and durchzogen Corona couldn’t travel for some time. But her family waited and she s now going to be trained as a diabetics alarm dog . Clever as she is she’ll be great !
